Lamb Kleftiko
I just started a cleanse, so writing a review for taverna Tonys couldn't be more difficult. I have several favorites, so that makes it even harder. I'll narrow it down to two items, 1) the lamb kleftino - outstanding (over life, I have made a no-lamb rule. but taverna has broken that for me) it's melt-in-your-mouth deeeeelicious! the savory sauce, accompanying vegetables and potatoes. a must try, 2) the whole branzino - this is a butterflied fish that is so light and flakey, fresh and absolutely fabulous. the ambiance at taverna makes you feel right at home. the decor. the wonderful and welcoming staff. I couldn't recommend this intimate restaurant more.
Fisherman's Stew
Fisherman's stew yum, fish, scallops and shrimp poached perfectly in tomato based broth, lots of seafood. absolutely delish.
Grilled Whole Branzino
The best branzino in LA. Tasty, flaky and generous portion it's truly one of the best dishes and cannot be missed
Horiatiki
The Horiatiki salad is quintessential to what you would experience along spartA's coast in Greece... even if you ate in the villages! It tasted just like Yia Yia's !
Avgolemono
This soup heals--my go to with the sniffles or on a hard day. Add to it the lovely location and fabulous staff....It's a win.
